The Badge- In the year 1867 the Founders decided the badge of I.C. Sorosis and on its wings had the IC written. After the organization get altered and named Pi Beta Phi the letters IC was replaced by the Greeks. A decision was taken at the Yellowstone National Park that there should be twelve links of a badge i.e. one for every Founder. In the beginning every member was provided with the gold-filled arrow badge. There was a relaxation that the females could order a jeweled badge from the headquarters and that too at cheaper price. The golden arrow badge is worn by the initiated members of Pi Beta Phi and it was worn over the heart The Crest- It is also known as coat-of-arms is lozenge on which it is written in bold letters Brownlee family crest and an eagle is shown in the center. held by the left talon. The lozenge indicates the weapons are for the
female group and the holding on of the IC in one talon and Pi Beta Phi
arrow on the other it indicates the complete individuality between Pi
Beta Phi community and I.C. Sorosis. During the convention of 1912 the
